Former Fairhaven school department employee being investigated for missing funds
FAIRHAVEN, MA- A former employee of the Fairhaven Public School District is being investigated for allegations that there are missing funds from student activity accounts.
The Fairhaven Public School District does not tolerate behavior of this nature and has active policies and procedures in place to address situations like this.
Once the District discovered these behaviors, it immediately notified the proper authorities and is cooperating with them in their investigation. The District has secured the services of a Forensic Auditing Specialist to determine the exact amount which is missing and duration of this alleged gross misconduct.
This investigation is based on the allegation that there are missing funds from student activity accounts. The former employee appears to have violated School District policies and procedures that she was entrusted to uphold.
