Fairhaven Football Wins Division VI Super Bowl; Head Coach Derek Almeida Named New England Patriots Coach of the Year
The Fairhaven High School Blue Devils just wrapped up an incredible season with a Division VI Super Bowl victory on December 4, finishing with a 12–1 record. This marks the team’s second state championship in three years, a remarkable achievement for the program.
Adding to the excitement, Head Coach Derek Almeida was named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Year. NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett visited Fairhaven to present Coach Almeida with the award, along with a $2,000 donation to the Fairhaven football program from the Kraft Family and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.
The visit and donation will be featured on the Patriots’ weekly show, Patriots All Access, airing Friday at 7 p.m. on WBZ-TV and available afterward on Patriots.com.
